Hello Alexander. I began about a year and a half ago and have been challenged by life events, energy and ability to focus.
Right now, I am loving the expansion of the course. Not all things lie in the notes. We could probably all whip through the material and be done with it. This is life cement. It’s different. Right now, I am rereading. I’ve done this before, but each time, I grab onto something different to chew on for a while. Right now it is reinvigorating and expanding my idea of journaling, Also and stress rekindling working with my dreams. Nightmares had put me off. I had been intimidated by the thought of memorizing and performing story. So, I had and still have a few things to work through. The course is very rich, but you must calm the impulse to absorb and run to a finish line. If you doing, you will miss the most important parts. I had some great advice during that time. One, if you are stuck, move on to something else and two, relax and stop worrying. Remember the worry bag at the beginning. Maybe do a new one and see what’s in there? I’ve done or redone my five inspirations several times and it keeps changing. I also shot of in all directions getting my barings in the culture. It was helpful. There are lots of things you can do, that are not waiting, but exploring. I hope this is encouraging?

Process varies from person to person time to time. I’m very irregular with my journallin and abandoned it for several months. I have four journals. I go back and forth between them as each represents major yet overlapping themes. Happily, I am back to it again. Notes and drawings. I have the little BDO journal which is very handy to put in my purse, and I jot things down in there for later use. Love it. The next size up is a rather sober leather bound journal. Not really certain where I am going with that one. I did some intuitive work with Ogham and Runes in there. Then, I have the sketch books. Very raw. Unbleached covers. That is mostly where I am working right now, but actually when sitting in on a ZOOM presentation yesterday ( on issues around indigenous health care due to systemic racism ) put a few notes for later in there ( some things will become prose thoughts for my practice) as well as some quick Samhain notes. It’s very handy and I find the cover makes me just feel good. I’m finding the journal more comforting now and parts are gelling more so as the pages fill in. I am not afraid to through in sticky notes as bookmarks either… Blessings! ~ Jamie

Very nice idea. I will put something in from time to time. I tend to put things on Facebook and forget to record them…then they are hard to track down. Just a habit on my part when feeling spontaneous verse emerging out. Instead, I will come here to do it.

    I enjoyed your poem.
    🙂

    Hello Merlin.

I voted Green in our last provincial election. f not now, when? Truly I feel it is our best option right now and, it reflects my values much better than some of the other parties. Sadly, the United Conservative party was elected here instead, but that’s what democracy is all about. If more people, had not been afraid to vote according to their convictions, perhaps things would have turned out differently. That’s democracy. Regardless of the outcome, participation is still important. Voting is a privilege, to be grateful for. The leader of our federal Green Party Elizabeth May has stepped down. I have deep admiration for her and am sad to see her go. Becoming a member is on my to-do list.

Hello Anonymous! Well someone has gifted me one of their decks and I have wrapped it and put it away until I feel I should take it out and use it. I had a good feeling about it, but none the less, I generally do not use these unless I am a guest and someone brings it out. When I have used decks, they have been, for the most part, positive experiences and quite accurate. I have been drawn more to dreams and prayers and visions. That sort of thing. But I am open to the idea and looking forward to working with them. Once done the Bardic Course content, I would like to purchase the BDO deck and work with it while I am doing the Ovate Course. I am interested to see what people have to say about this process and the BDO deck as well.
    Will follow the conversation.

    ~ Jamie
