So sit you still and listen you good
For my tale will bring Memory and Thought to your blood!
Your bones will harden from dust to delight
Ashes reform into flesh on this night
For the words you hear are correct and True
I, Taliensin deliver Mankind`s prophecy to you!

Ceridwen was whole, a hag with no strife
I, Gwion, grew inside precious new life
As the adder and birch shed their treasured rich skin
I too shed mine to re-birth from within
A shining beacon to be born nine months later
Ceridwen`s mood softened, my mother not hater
My birth bag of leather enclosing my face
Never to drown, as an ark for my race
Reborn thrice over, a wielder of fate
Taliesin I am! To challenge your hate!
Look close to your Truth and the course of your actions
Or Earth becomes cauldron and splits into fractions
Your noxious brew fuelled by commerce and greed
Drives your spurs in the hide of malevolent steeds
The light of the world lies dying, untended
Whilst your actions make recipes that should never be blended
Do not be cadavers, blinded and idle
With Plague, Greed and Hunger you should not sidle
Should you fail to heed the point of this story
Mankind will die as you kill all of Earth`s Glory.

Deepwater dog diving down to the Dark
Snicker snack teeth, then bubbles and bark
Her Truth is the fate of fierce backhanded welt
As she lay on the bank being skinned for her pelt.

Her gaze held; dimming fast her soul done
Evaporating away as I leaped for the sun
Swap scales for feathers, skylarking flyer
I matched Knowledge to Wisdom and Pheonix fire
Universe spirals, the playground of Gods
Timeless, ancient as tracks of deer trods
Singing my joy in an opal glazed skies
Wind slicing wings reached etherial highs
Eloquent grace I made good my escape
Far below earth-man continued to rape
Future was Past and Present was Now
I saw with my Soul the health of Man`s cow!

She is an eagle, she flies from a tether
Attached to his arm is a thick glove of leather
A toy for amusement, a regal disgrace
Queen of the air out of time out of place
Whispers of wind as she slices the air
Talons miss judge tail by the breath of a hare
A dive from the skies pursuit across heather
Sweet bee crusted purples, Glorious 12th weather
Her Truth is the fate of a shot splitting air
Her crime? A raptor…. just being there

Her gaze held; dimming with pain,
No flying free over grouse moors again
Queen of the birds, her predators curse
    A trophy, a gift lining a gamekeeper`s purse.
I hid in plain sight in Lughnasadh corn
As inwards my conscience did wail and mourn
The wanton destruction of beauty and grace
No veil on my eyes. No hidden disgrace
Safety in millions of similar clones
I relaxed, drew breath, tapped ancestral bones
Blood met blood as ash met ashes
Spectral memories with new age clashes
For I was alone in an ocean of sand
What difference could be made with the wave of one`s hand?

She was a hen, as black as wet pitch
Will I ever be free of this Samhain Witch?
    Domesticated, oppressed and grossly misused
As a hen she is valued by what she produced
Scratching the ground but not scratching the Earth
Her nails were ragged, sterile children unbirthed
A hot sliced half beak to peck at the corn
Wing stubs featherless by her side hung forlorn
Her Truth is the cries of creatures worldwide
Songs mankind suffocates, ignores and denies
Her gaze held; she pounced and I dissolved into Wonder
Out of Time out of Place, witch’s womb, safe from plunder
There I spun in the realms of the free
Singing songs of lost Truths, riddling the Sidhe

So sit you still and listen you good here I’ve had to miss out a repeating but tweaked but as the page forum won’t let me post as it’s too similar, sigh…

Ceridwen is tired, a hard ridden hag
As she ponders the plight of her people gone bad
Light sucking ugliness, souls lost so deep
Blindness to beauty as Mother Earth weeps
Our prophecy begins by the mirror of the sky
Tranquility ruined by Greed`s raucous cry
    Ceridwen peers dismayed and aloof
She will try to revive humanities Truth
Gathering about her the spells she will need
Hate, Envy, Destruction to the cauldron will bleed
The nature of mankind is a thrice noxious brew
A self-blinded cadaver in charge of her stew
For a year and a day to stoke of the fires
Entertained by tongues of half truths and liars
A veil of self ignorance obscuring his view
Mankind did just as he felt he should do
The flames hard roasted the ice capped potion
Past gaseous tipping points and tropical oceans
Corals were bleached, animals were vapourised
And still the truths from mankind were disguised
More fuel to the fire, stir thick and good
There`s money to burn when he runs out of woods!

Un noticed and small by the cadaver`s feet
Sits Childhood, a boy still innocent and sweet
His task is to stir, the blind ego`s shadow
To mimic and watch passage of Earth to the gallows
The desolate ruins are his to inherit
Whilst smiling gladly at his forefathers` merit
Ignorant to much that once would have been his
Lost word, lost songs replaced by “business”
Whispers in the air, the joy of the stars
Choked out by fumes and fouled by man`s cars
Smogs and deceits, pandemics and riots
With mankind at the helm a self centred pilot
A Pavlov`s response to the microwave “pings”
The child reaches up to grab plastic things
A thrice daily delivery of sugar and junk
Fake foods, additives, his health truly sunk
A tear from the Sun fell true, fast and clear
Liquid gold elemental caused the potion to sear
Molten fury the cauldron`s celestial whiplash
As scalding drops onto Gwion`s fingers quickly splashed
Three fine drops of Ceridwen`s spell
Reducing the last to a toxic residual well
The cauldron breached as a whale to the stars
As it escaped from is poison as two broken shards

Ahh ok, so many small sections possibky, thank you…ok
    The tale of Taliesin
Come hither, let me slip you away
‘Neath a lonely hawthorn in the Land of the Fae
Where the world is younger, our Past their Now
And a man is measured by the health of his cow.

Sit you still and listen you good
For my tale will bring memory and truth to your blood
Your bones will harden from dust to delight
Ashes reform into flesh on this night
For the words that you hear are correct and true
Hark! I bring the Tale of Taliesin to you!

In the land of the draig, iced fire and slate teeth
Rise to the stars, ancient heroes beneath
Verdent lush growth from sharp Summer rains
    Arwenian prose awed attention gains
Our tale begins by the mirror of the skies
Tranquility marred by sea raven`s rough cries
Light sucking ugliness lending mothers to weep
But hey! What is this? MY AUDIENCE ASLEEP!
You cannot sustain your poor focussed attention
Once devoid of your dammed electronic inventions
Your minds are dimmed, your intelligence frail
As you struggle to think your own memory fails
Your instinct too deep, lack of knowledge is drastic
All Hazelnut Wisdom is encased in cheap plastic!
Your Truth is as raw as man`s destiny to deliver
Ghosts of bards wide eyed weep and shiver
The price is too high, the risk is too great
So a Modern Taliesin challenges your hate
    A Political Bard reinvented, reborn
Some hope that mankind sees Aquarius` new dawn
If you fail to heed the point of this story
Mankind will die as too Mother Earth`s glory.

Hi and thank you for this list. I’m newly joined and if totally open in rather intimidated by the Whole Bardic Thing as it’s right out of my comfort zone. But I’m thinking that in itself is perhaps the biggest obstacle in my learning journey. But in order to do the Ovate course I need to tackle this one. Tackle not being the right word really, so…. Off to Amazon to find some second hand books 🙂
