Registered With Ancient Order Of Druids 0f America

After reading about the Ancient Order Of Druid’s North American Branch from Ronald Hutton’s ‘Triumph Of The Moon’, I decided to make Registering to be a Member of the Ancient Order of Druids as a part of my Samhain/Halloween Celebrations.

So after finding their Website, I submitted my Information to become a Member of their AODA.

Good News! My Application for AODA Membership has been Approved! I am so Excited!

They sent me an Email that has some Attachments that has a couple of Attachments that are over 100 Pages long that I have to read over.

There is also an Initiation Attachment that is 3 Pages long and I have already read that over. The Initiation Ritual is similar in most respects to other Initiation Rituals I have read over & participated in.

That is one thing I have found is that all Sacred Rituals are always similar to each other but are never ever exactly the same. So I am going to brief over the Ritual and do it as similarly as it is presented.

I have read over the Initiation Ritual and it is Very Similar to most other Coven Initiation Rituals that I have known or participated in.

The Initiation starts by stating that I should Imagine a Forest in which to do the Ritual. It just so happens that I live in a Condominium Community in the Saskatchewan Town of Nipawin and that is surrounded by actual Living Breathing Forest. So that means I do not have to Imagine anything as I have it here for real with Wild Animals running about all over the place.

The Candle Colors are Basic although I have mostly know North to be represented by Black or Blown Candles and East being represented by a Basic White Candle instead of Yellow although I have known Yellow to be used for East as well.

The 2nd Part is very similar to a Moon Esbat Course that is made available by The Druid Network and is written by the High Arch Druid Emma Restall-Orr (aka: Bobcat). I did the Course of observing the Moon Phases in 2013 while a Member of the TDN.

3rd Part is basically going about the Sacred Circle from North East to a Deosil Clockwise Direction lighting the Colored Candles and at each Candle, an Incantation for Protection is done.

I have decided to do a Year Long Version of the 2nd Part of the Initiation Ritual by redoing Bobcat Perennial Living Druid Course and then do the Official 3rd Part of the Initiation Ritual for next November 5th during next year’s Guy Fawkes Burning Night.

I have a Druidistic Priestess Ladyfriend living in Quelph who is willing to be the Druidistic Spirit Guide for my Nove 5th 2026 Protection Ritual.

From the AODA’s Druidry Handbook, I learned of a Modern Day Myth of the Celtic Giant Einigan and how the Light Rays of the Awen were Generated from his Skull. The Story goes that the Einigan took Three Staves of Rowan and Carved them with with Knowledge using the Ogham Text.

But when others had Misinterpreted & Misread the Carvings of Knowledge on the Eingan’s Three Staves, the Einigan then flew into a Rage of Grief & Anger that he Exploded Asunder and Passed Away leaving only His Skull from which those Three Rowan Staves had taken Root and Grown from within the Einigan’s Skull which was Correctly Interpreted.

After the way things have turned out with Me & The AODA, I now have Empathy for the Rage and Grief that the Legendary Einigan endured when his Carvings were Misinterpreted.
