ParticipantAfter many years of running creatively dry I have the notion to attempt another children’s book in the New Year and have a basic outline but would like to incorporate mythical beings and fairy folk. I was wondering if anybody can recommend any good sources of Myths and Legends of the British Isles be that good books or internet searches, I havent come up with very much so far. Thanks.

ParticipantEvening Angela,
Have you tried looking at the Celtic section of the Internet Sacred Text Archive?. You could also try The Mammoth Book of Celtic Myths and Legends, Peter Berresford Ellis (2003). Finally, there’s the Celtic Literature Collective – Mary Jones, which also has a lot of good materials and resources that are freely available.
Hope that helps.

ParticipantI’m reading through The Mammoth book of Celtic Myths and Legends. I downloaded it to my kindle. Its a fascinating read with much to ponder on. Sorry for being a doom and gloom merchant. We should start a humorous thread with jokes and uplifting quotes.

ParticipantI am working my way through this book right now, although I do find it to be a little bit on the heavy side

ParticipantI read it for about 20 minutes every night, so it’s in easy chunks. I’m afraid I don’t know how to pronounce most of the names of the characters and I haven’t got much inspiration for my book yet. I will carry on, I’m on a chapter where early Christians are included in the story.
