Dave TheDruid-3X3ParticipantI could not find a copy of the ‘Temple Making’ Program that I have on VHS Tape but I found another Presentation by Freddy Silva called ‘Temples, Megaliths and the Quest for the Otherworld’.
Here it is:
This gives you an indepth version of Philip’s Chapter #7.

Chapter #8 is called ‘Druid Treelore’.
Philip starts off by going into a section called ‘Tree Knowledge’ which is the History of Ancient Celtic Ogham Tree Alphabet which correlates to the Qabalistic Tree of Life although the Qabalists used only One Tree as compared to the many Trees of the Groves. To the Druids, the Ogham Tree Writing was associated to different Numbers, Gods, Goddesses, Animals, Birds, Colours, Minerals, Stars or Divine Human Principles.
Although Druids hold all Plant Life as Sacred, there are 25 Trees that are considered the Most Sacred. I consider the Ogham for ‘T’ – ‘Tinne’ which is associated with the Holly Tree so Tinne is my Most Sacred Ogham as it represents a Japanese Kuroganemochi Holly Tree that managed to Grow Back in Hiroshima after the Atomic Bomb.
It is then in the Chapter that Philip then goes into the Attributes of 3 Sacred Tree and 1 Sacred Plant. Philip starts off with the Birch Tree.
It is the Birch that has gotten Planted in New Virgin Lands when a Grove is being Created. It was the Birch that was used as Switches to Beat the Evil out of Criminals. It is the Birch that represents the First Month after every Winter Solstice. In Ceremony, the Siberian Eskimo Shamen would climb Birch Trees as part of their Initiations. The Celts would use Birch to make Baby Cribs.
Next Sacred Tree is the Yew Tree and Philip writes that it represents Death and thus it was Planted amongst the Grave Yards a lot.
Then there is the Oak Tree which is Sacred to the Druid Class of Celtic Druids. It was found that the Oak tended to get struck by Lightening a lot so it became known for channeling in the Energies of the Gods. Oak Trees were known for being used as Doorways to Sacred Temples and were used as places of Community Gatherings. Oaks were representative of the Summer Solstice so would represent the Month after during Summer Solstice between June 4th to July 7th. The Celtic God Dagda is considered the God of the Oak.
The Sacred Plant discussed is the Mistletoe which was cut down from an Oak by a Druid with a Golden Sickle for Winter Solstice.
The end of the Chapter invites you to develop a Relationship with a Particular Tree and mine is the Japanese Kuroganemochi Holly Tree that managed to Grow Back after being Burnt to a Smoldering Stump by the Hiroshima Atomic Bomb.
Now to read the Afterword.

Philips has an ‘Afterword’ after the 8th Chapter and the First Thing he writes is his say that Druidism is not a Complicated Path. I have to disagree with that as I have known several ‘so called’ Druids that have made the Druidistic Path a Very Complicated One especially after reading about how many Years it takes for one to Graduate through the Bardic, Ovate and Druidistic Grades of Druidism.
Philip then equates the Sun to being the “Father Sun” which I take to mean that Philip considers the Sun to be a Masculine Entity.
He then goes on to state that it is due to Humanity’s Fascination with Machines & Mechanics that causes Humanity to be cut off from Appreciating Nature. I disagree as it has always looked to me that Humanity has cut itself from Appreciating Nature since around the Time of the Renaissance and since the Time of Gutenburg’s Invention of the Printing Press.
The Last Line in the Afterword was somewhat profound as it goes: “Our Roots are Holy”.
I did find a couple of New Things about Druidry in this Book and I recommend it being every Druid’s Library.

Dave TheDruid-3X3ParticipantJust got the Email from the Library that the Book I requested ‘The Druids’ by Prof Stuart Piggott has arrived and is being held for me. I will pick it up tomorrow.
That is the Book that Philip spoke favorably of. I am looking forward to picking it up and sending Texts of it to my Druid Spirit Guide.

Dave TheDruid-3X3ParticipantI have read the Book to Page #46 and I have found that Piggott points out that the main source of Information about the Druids and the Ancient Celts is sourced from the Archeological Digs that have been done in the past Century or so. He points out that the only written Language in Ancient Times comes from the Romans in their Latin and also the Ancient Greeks. So since the Ancient Druids kept their Knowledge & Arts at a Oral Tradition only, the only records that can be found are Outsiders who have observed the Druids. Such Inscriptions in Roman Latin & Greek have been found in Excavations along Hadrian’s Wall and have not been able to be understood.
But I have realized that a lot of the Arts of the Pagan Druids must have been Preserved in the Great Library of Alexandria which had it’s Historical Records Burnt & Destroyed first by the Invading Muslims and then by the Christians who Killed the Pagan Scholar Hypatia in 415AD. So if there were any Written Records, which may have been written down by Scholars of about the 3rd Century BC to the 4th Century AD, of what was known of the Druids in the Library of Alexandria was Destroyed by Unaccepting Monotheistic Religions of that time.
If what Piggott says, that the Druids deliberately kept their Arts to an Oral Tradition, then that was a Big Mistake as it left such Knowledge in peril of being Exterminated by Invading Romans who then Killed the Druidistic Leaders of the Celts whilst Burning Down their Groves (Last being said to be Anglesey).

Dave TheDruid-3X3ParticipantLast night, I read up to Page #79 of Chapter #2. It mainly points out several Sacred Sites of the Celtic Druids.
First, is a Site that was Excavated when it was discovered when they were building the Heathrow Airport:
July 4, 2026 at 4:09 pm #18337
Dave TheDruid-3X3ParticipantHere is a Site in Ireland at a place called Tara Hill:
July 4, 2026 at 4:13 pm #18338
Dave TheDruid-3X3ParticipantAnd to show that there was some Written Record of the Ancient Celtic Druids, although most was Oral Tradition, is a Ancient Bronze Celtic Calender which was Gaulic found in France:

Thus showing that some of the Information of the Ancient Celts were Written Down. Not just an Oral Tradition.

I spent the past couple of Days reading over Chapter 3
The Chapter then points out that the Ancient Greeks did write of the Northern Celts with the view as not having anywhere near as sophisticated methods of Temple Building nor Writing Systems. So they Ancient Greeks wrote of the Celts in similar light as the 16th Century wrote of the Aboriginal Natives of the Americans in the 16th Century.

Dave TheDruid-3X3ParticipantPiggutt then goes into a type of Divination called ‘Anguinum’ in which Eggs are used to make Divinations. Here is a Picture of such Divination that was used by the Anguinumic Divinatory Artists.

Dave TheDruid-3X3ParticipantAwens to All:
Chapter #4 is called ‘The Romantic Image’ and is 50 Pages long. Yesterday, I read half of the Chapter.
It starts off going over how shortly after Gutenburg’s Printing Press Invention, there were a lot of Scholars who Translated a lot of Ancient Greek & Latin Texts about what had been written down by about the Ancient Celts in the 15th & 16th Centuries and got them Published and Preserved in Libraries of that time. One such Publication was a Clement Edmond’s 1604 Publication of what Juilius Caesar had recorded.
Then he goes into the various Scholars who proposed Theories about who had built the Stonehenge and one of those was that it was the Tomb of the Warrior Queen Boudicca and then there was the Theory that the Romans may have built it since they were known for building such Immense Structures such as the Roman Colosseum. It turned out that the Theory of William Stukeley (who had started calling himself ‘Chyndonax’, was the Scholar that came closest to what who it actually was who built Stonehenge.
Now to read the 2nd Half of this Chapter.

Dave TheDruid-3X3ParticipantThe other half of the Chapter pretty much Chronicles the various 17th to 18th Century Publications about Druidistic Art & Culture such as William Cooke’s ‘An Equiry into the Druidical and Patriarchal Religion (1754).
Then he writes about a few Stone Circles that are associated with the Druids such as ‘The Druid’s Temple’ that was built by William Danby during the 1930s. They show a Picture of this Temple in the Book and I found a YouTube about it that I will post shortly.
Then Piggott concludes the Chapter by Chronicling the Ownership of the Stonehenge and the recent Histories of the Modern Druid’s access to such Stones.

Now I am reading the Legendary ‘Book of Druidry’ written by OBOD Druid Chieftain Ross Nichols and in the Foreword, there is mentioned a Sacred Site that I had never heard of before called ‘Holdstone Down’ in Devon.
There is actually very little Information about it and also not much available on YouTube but it is one of the Circular Sites that Legends say out Human Intelligences came from.
Here is the YouTube about it:
