Having realised a long time ago that much of the ancient celebration of Nos galan gaeaf/Hallowe’en in Southern Britain where I was brought up transferred from October 31st to November 5th, Guy Fawkes Night, I’ve always enjoyed bonfires, fireworks, roasting apples in the embers and drinking mulled wine. If I’m at Wild Ways with a group, I always look forward to walking Elaine’s sheep between two bonfires. They love it. When the fires have died down, they especially enjoy rolling about in the hot ashes!
