Persephone Veritas posted “Why is a religious organisation charging? That sounds like a sect more akin to scientology and passing tiers to gain acces to the next levels of enlightenment as a firm of scam fraud ! Its religious fraud ! This is shamefull ! Knowledge should be shared for free !”

I answered this question earlier in this thread, but for those who may have missed it, here’s my reply again:

“We do, as we always have, offer reduced rates for our courses to those on low incomes and will, in cases of genuine need, waive our fees altogether. People do need to ask though, as otherwise we are obviously unaware of individual’s circumstances.
We normally charge for our courses for a variety of reasons, many of which are discussed on my blog, here: https://greywolf.druidry.co.uk/2014/01/selling-the-soul-spirituality-in-a-capitalist-culture/
One reason we charge is that I have devoted roughly 40 hours a week for the last 18 years into researching, writing and editing our courses and feel entitled to at least some recompense for 37,500 hours’ work. I am a pensioner. Druidry is my sole source of income other than the state pension. I have a son and daughter living at home, one of whom works part-time while I wholly support the other. For the work I do for the BDO I pay myself £3.17 an hour, less than one-third of the national minimum wage. I don’t think that’s unreasonable. We also pay for the maintenance of our website and course delivery system and occasionally help out BDO elders in need since they freely donate their time as tutors and in other capacities, usually over many years.
I trust that answers your concerns.
      Many blessings,
      Greywolf /|\”

To which I would add, no one’s forcing anyone to sign up for our courses, whether they pay for them or not. If you object to paying for our courses, the answer is very simple: don’t! :-)

Nature itself works on the principles of do ut des. At a very basic level, we release carbon dioxide; plants use carbon dioxide to photosynthesise and produce the food we need and, of course, the oxygen we breathe in order to fuel our own bodies. In turn, we release carbon dioxide, which is necessary for respiration. One could argue that ultimately all energy we use is indeed from the Sun, to which we don’t give anything back. But in terms of our own biosphere, everything is about cycles and exchange. The ancient ones believed in sacrifice and service; the ‘gods’ didn’t acquiesce free of charge. Even societies today basically work on a principle of exchange. Whether this is equitable and fair exchange is a moot point and is essentially at the root of most of the problems afflicting the world today. However, this is digressing somewhat. The point is that I think it is far from unreasonable for the BDO to request a very moderate fee in exchange for its guidance.

Feel free to pass your knowledge on freely. As trying to look after a family other than oneself while disabled is impossible. Especially when grew up orphan so no support system . So while u sit andonly look after yourself and let others look after you think on. Coz only a male like you and other males in these comments could me so selfish to never have asked what can we do to help.

And in respone to greywolf no one is forced to sign up to course . How is someone meant to learn ? You will never face homelessness you will never face hunger . You have a complete monopoly. It your way or no way . That is nothing like what druidisim natures way and balance is about your way is dictatorship !

Greywolf has already quite clearly stated that the BDO operates a policy whereby it can, on specific request, waive the fees if such a request be made. Others have also pointed out the wealth of free, or as near-as-free-can-be materials available online, too, including on this forum, which is free to join and participate in. I don’t think anybody is ‘hiding knowledge’, so to speak.

Thankyou, bu no one isn’t willing sharing saying hi i can help. I have this book or i have this i can do this for you are they ? Including yourself …. exclusion is discrimination. When you have the knowledge and u choose to actively not share for the sole purpose to exclused and to make make mombey via exclusion that is no longer a free religion that is a cult. That becomes a dictatorship . None of that is for the betterment of humanity. Its control for monetry gain. Shared knowledge shared compasion . Im still waiting for it.
