Kehesnos Gwynngala ha Kynnyav lowen dhywgh hwi oll!

Cyhydnos yr Hydref – Cónocht an Fhómhair – Alban Elfed

Whatever language you speak, however you may name this festival, many blessings at this time of harvest.

Day now gives way to night,
      Darkness eats away at light,
      Chill defied by fires bright,
The veil soon lifted, the second sight.

Second sight is only an inherent ability, an ability the spirit can work within. It doesn’t serve any purpose other than that really, just contact with the supernatural. It can’t lift anything on its own, only God does that.

          Hi Angela,

In the traditions of the British Isles, foremost those of the Highlands of Scotland, the ‘second sight’, I think, was understood as meaning something a little different to how ‘modern’ people may understand it today. I do, however, believe that some people are perhaps born with an extra sense or degree perception. Interestingly enough, and a far cry from a lot of the nonsense on TV these days, the ‘second sight’ in Scotland was not something that was taken lightly, nor was it always seen as a blessing, on the contrary, it might even be considered a bane.
