Dave TheDruid-3X3I have read the Book to Page #46 and I have found that Piggott points out that the main source of Information about the Druids and the Ancient Celts is sourced from the Archeological Digs that have been done in the past Century or so. He points out that the only written Language in Ancient Times comes from the Romans in their Latin and also the Ancient Greeks. So since the Ancient Druids kept their Knowledge & Arts at a Oral Tradition only, the only records that can be found are Outsiders who have observed the Druids. Such Inscriptions in Roman Latin & Greek have been found in Excavations along Hadrian’s Wall and have not been able to be understood.
But I have realized that a lot of the Arts of the Pagan Druids must have been Preserved in the Great Library of Alexandria which had it’s Historical Records Burnt & Destroyed first by the Invading Muslims and then by the Christians who Killed the Pagan Scholar Hypatia in 415AD. So if there were any Written Records, which may have been written down by Scholars of about the 3rd Century BC to the 4th Century AD, of what was known of the Druids in the Library of Alexandria was Destroyed by Unaccepting Monotheistic Religions of that time.
If what Piggott says, that the Druids deliberately kept their Arts to an Oral Tradition, then that was a Big Mistake as it left such Knowledge in peril of being Exterminated by Invading Romans who then Killed the Druidistic Leaders of the Celts whilst Burning Down their Groves (Last being said to be Anglesey).
