Having suffered from depression since childhood myself, I empathise. It’s the creative, bardic side of Druidry that’s helped keep me sane for the last 50 years; making and listening to music, reading and writing, drawing, making things. What all arts and crafts have in common is that sense that you’re bringing into existence something that did not previously exist and would never have existed without your work and skill. It’s a good feeling. The daily news often seems designed to convince us that the world is a dark and terrible place and continually getting worse. Creativity is a ship in which we can ride out the storm.
