Following on from last year’s hugely enjoyable event, here’s another opportunity to chill out, trance out and dance out to an evening of inspired, inspiring, magical shamanic music. Taking place at the Wild Ways retreat centre in Shropshire, we’ll be joined by two founders of The World Drum Project, White Cougar, the healer and musician whose vision led to the Drum’s creation, and Morten Wolf Storeide, who assists its travels around the world. With them will be Lena Paalviig Johnsen and Bobby Kure and Anita Dreyer, members of the amazing Norwegian-based shamanic band, Baalfolket. White Cougar and Morten both have solo musical projects, playing live over pre-recorded backing tracks, and White Cougar and Lena play together as The Northern Lights Sound Project (check out their video below). All bring music, beautiful spirits and entrancing soundscapes. Also appearing will be our very own Greywolf, performing songs reflecting his own journey as a Druid plus, perhaps, a guest or two.
There must be something in the water in Norway, for these talented folk project such warmth and humour whilst also being some of the most spiritually-attuned people we’ve ever met. If ever there was an argument against the idea that spirituality has to be dully serious, it’s these guys. Their Saami-influenced, shamanic spirituality relates to spirits of land, plants and animals with reality, depth, intensity and joy, all reflected in their fantastic music.
In short, it will be beautiful, so please keep the date clear in your diary. You will not want to miss this. Also, bear in mind that the venue has a maximum capacity of only 50 guests, so you might want to jump straight to online booking on our payment page for the event, or register your interest by contacting Elaine on 01746 861992 or by e-mail. As this event ends quite late, you might find it handy to have a place to stay. Elaine is offering overnight stays at Wild Ways on the 17th for only £15 a night. Phone or email her for details.
And here’s just a little taster of what you can expect from the evening, featuring White Cougar and Lena on drums plus Lena’s enchantingly beautiful voice:
Saturday 17th May, evening, 7.00 to 11.30pm:
You’re welcome to arrive any time after lunch (i.e. from 2pm onwards), hang out with us and chat or wander in the woods, which should be beautifully carpeted with bluebells. Bring your own food (or take advantage of the nearby village’s excellent cafe and takeaways) and, if you’re staying overnight, bring bedding too.
The price for this magical evening is a mere £20 per person. Online booking HERE.
