Groves within the North Yorkshire area

Postby companion-of-thewolf » Mon Jul 18, 2011 2:33 pm

Greetings,

Are there any groves operating in the North Yorkshire area? If not would be great to consider creating one with people who live within this beautiful county.

Blessings

Hi Companion of the Wolf... I'm so far west in Yorkshire as to be nearly Lancashire, so not much use there... I don't know of any BDO folk operating out of York at the moment, but if I hear of anyone, I'll point them here

Ah yes, well i recently moved here from West Yorkshire. My family lives in Liversedge not far from Halifax. Used to visit your neck of the woods (Haworth) quite often. Beautiful place =). Will be great if you can let me know. If all fails i would be willing to pass by as i visit family and such!

Peace and Blessings

Hallo Wolf,

Thats Interesting to know because I live just north of you in a town called Thornaby on tees in the old North riding of yorkshire (near Middlesbrough) just up the A19, and tho I have small grove close by for use here in teesside myself and other members of the facebook group Northern Druids often meet up at the Central henge of Thornborough for rites ( tho we don't attend for beltane when members of sacred brigantia are in attendance )

Hiya. There's one in Otley that has been running for quite some time (not quite North Yorkshire but pretty accessible for most who live in that area) called the Arturian Grove - I am a member but have not been in ages because of my new baby son. Let me know if you'd like me to send your contact details on to them :)

Hi Helen,
I've emailed contatcs for the Arturian Grove a couple of times with no response and more recently I looked at the OBOD list and they don't seem to be active anymore. I live in Otley, too.

Hi Suzanne

Sorry I've only just logged on here for the first time in ages and seen your post - they are very active but not sure they have kept up their OBOD contact details. Would you like me to forward an e-mail to the main contact for you, I have their address and we correspond via e-mail pretty regularly? I know that e-mail addresses changed a while ago so perhaps things crossed in the electronic post?

Hi Helen,
Thanks - maybe the email addreses weren't right, but they were passed on to us by someone who knows them, too. Still, if the emails had changed, we may have been given the old ones (several of us have tried to contact them). I think I noticed somewhere in the OBOD list that they are a closed group, but I've just joined OBOD so may be able to find out. In any case, some of us with an animist outlook may try and get something together.
