The Deeds of the Tuatha De Danaan & the Battles of Moytura (Mag Tuired)
With Robin Williamson & Greywolf
June 1st-3rd, 2012
Robin Williamson is Britain's finest exponent of the traditional bardic arts, a magical storyteller, an inspired singer-songwriter and brilliant musician. Greywolf is the chief of the British Druid Order and a pretty fair bard himself.
Of this workshop, Robin says: "From the wisdom tradition of ancient Ireland, this tale recounts the magical conflicts of ancestors at the dawn of the world. It is unique, this blunt-edgy-disturbing-healing-cruel and beautiful tale. The closest thing in Celtic lore to a creation myth, it is full of strange twists, mannered dialogues, verses and spells. This, of all bardic stories, seems to most clearly present an insight to druidic teachings, and its performance evokes by way of word and music a deeper connection to the powers of Light and Life."
In the perfect setting of our Iron Age roundhouse, we'll be working with these ancient tales that tell of the coming of the Tuatha de Danaan gods to Ireland, of their king, Nuada of the Silver Hand, of their conflict with the old gods of the land, the Fir Bolg, of the healer, Dian Cecht, of the coming of the young sun god, Lugh, of the magical harp of the Dagda and much more besides. These rich tales provide themes for meditation as we immerse ourselves in their magic and meaning.
The outline of the event is:
Arrive Friday afternoon or early evening, eat, meet and greet, share tales and tunes and prepare with meditation.
All day Saturday with Robin in the roundhouse. Saturday evening for sharing around a fire outdoors or in the roundhouse.
Sunday with BDO chief, Greywolf, to share, discuss and practice our newly-honed skills.
As a bonus, there is a sauna available onsite.
Price: Vegetarian food and basic accommodation (or camping) are provided for the all-inclusive price of £135 per person (subject to change).
The most we can comfortably fit in the roundhouse, and the maximum number we can work with on this type of event, is 20. Places will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration details will be posted shortly as soon as we've created a booking form.

Reality: the Magical World
With Robin Williamson & Greywolf
August 24th-26th, 2012
Robin describes this session as focusing on "Celtic stories and songs as keys to the paths from Malkuth to Tiphareth on the Kabalistic Tree of Life. This workshop continues aspects of the traditions from the workshop on the Battles of Moytura."
This weekend we'll be relating traditional Celtic myths, legends and songs as keys to the soul's journey on the paths of the Kabalistic Tree of Life between the spheres of Malkuth (Earth) and Tiphareth (Sun). The concept of the Tree of Life naturally resonates with us as Druids, being no strangers to the idea of the tree as sacred. Robin and Greywolf both have an interest in the Hebrew Kabalah going back more than forty years. Our magical roundhouse in its beautiful woodland grove in Shropshire provides a perfect venue for what promises to be a powerful and inspiring adventure.
